The Deka Forensics blog has recently featured an article detailing an experiment conducted by Tomasz Dyrda and Dr. hab. Krzysztof Koźmiński, Professor at the University of Warsaw and Managing Partner at Jabłoński Koźmiński & Partners. This study explores the intersection of law, technology, and literature.

The research served as an empirical validation of the potential for deploying Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in the mass analysis of judicial case law – specifically within the context of litigation concerning foreign currency-indexed and denominated loan agreements.

The project involved an analysis of a sample of 40 anonymised judgments, encompassing a diverse range of technical structures (including PDF scans and text-based documents).

  • Where does the boundary lie between ‘supporting’ and ‘replacing’ human intellectual labour?
  • Did the GenAI model successfully navigate the opaque, technical language of judicial reasoning and low-quality document scans?
  • Are the visions of the master of Polish science fiction, Janusz Zajdel, becoming our new reality?

You can find the answers to these questions in the full article.
