About the practice
The lawyers of the Law Firm – who are not only experienced practitioners, but also recognizable scientists with extensive experience in broadly understood academic life – offer support covering various areas of higher education law and science.
On several occasions in the past, we have advised or supported the process of establishing non-public universities. We have prepared numerous legal opinions, expert opinions, as well as drafts of normative acts for the ministry, universities and research institutes. We have many years of experience in the field of evaluation (parameterization) procedures. We have supported clients in proceedings conducted by the Polish Accreditation Committee, ministries, other controlling entities or during audits.
We have advised on competition proceedings, grant applications, their legal services and settlements. In the past, we have also been involved in disciplinary proceedings against students or university employees on numerous occasions – both as members of disciplinary bodies and as attorneys or legal advisers to the accused. We also have extensive experience in the field of promotion procedures, i.e. related to applying for academic degrees or titles, as well as good teaching standards at various levels of higher education institutions, including education in doctoral schools.
We are also – both senior lawyers of the Law Firm and junior lawyers who are doctoral students – academics with many years of extensive experience in the field of science, higher education, as well as the organization of universities and their financing system.

- Comprehensive legal services for higher education and science institutions, including universities, research institutes, public authorities and other public institutions, as well as entrepreneurs and non-governmental organizations active in the field of science, popularization of science and its internationalization, academic didactics, as well as commercialization of scientific research;
- Support in all administrative proceedings in the area of higher education and science (including, m.in the process of establishing higher education institutions, promotion procedures, evaluation procedures, inspections by the Polish Accreditation Committee or the ministry);
- Legal advice in connection with the implementation of grant projects (including international ones) and their settlement;
- Audits, in particular audits of internal law from the point of view of compliance with generally applicable law, as well as preparations for audits, inspections, supervisory proceedings;
- Legislative support, including in particular legislative support in the drafting of internal law acts (m.in. statutes, regulations, resolutions, ordinances, templates of applicable contracts, etc.);
- Advising on intellectual property rights and technology transfer in science and higher education;
- Representation before courts, public administration bodies, including institutions awarding grants or other financial support, including representation in disciplinary proceedings or before other bodies of the university;
- Trainings and courses covering selected issues in the field of higher education law and science.
