Last Friday, Money.pl published an article titled “How Cinkciarz went to NBP for money and a banking license” [PL: „Jak Cinkciarz poszedł do NBP po pieniądze i licencję bankową“] by Karolina Wysota, which shed light on the controversial meeting of the Conotoxia Group (owning the Cinkciarz currency exchange office) with the President of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński.

The article discusses the company’s desperate attempts to obtain financing and banking licenses and the NBP’s reactions to these actions. The Managing Partner of Jabłoński Koźmiński i Wspólnicy Law Firm – dr hab. Krzysztof Koźmiński, professor at the University of Warsaw , was asked to comment. In his opinion, despite being controversial, meetings between decision-makers and business representatives can be a positive phenomenon if they are a part of a standard procedure and not an exception to the rule.

Our expert noted that Poland’s various problems are not solved in closed offices but in open conversations. Meetings with decision-makers should not occur in the shadow of distrust and speculation.

We encourage you to read the entire article that is available here.
