“The impact of civil law on drug prices.” This isn’t a theoretical textbook thesis – it’s a concrete analysis of the effects of the March 9, 2023, amendment to the Code of Civil Procedure, the results of which will be presented on September 23 during the 44th Seminar of Patent Attorneys of Higher Education Institutions in Cedzyna, near Kielce.

During the event, dr hab. Krzysztof Koźmiński, Prof. UW and Managing Partner of the Jabłoński Koźmiński & Partners Law Firm, will present a paper entitled “The Impact of the Amendment to the Code of Civil Procedure of 9 March 2023 on Drug Prices – Research Results from the University of Warsaw Regulatory Impact Assessment Center.” 

This topic merges judicial practice, health policy, and economic mechanisms, showing that procedural regulations can significantly influence the pharmaceutical market—including the availability and cost of treatments. 

The event will take place from September 22 to 26, 2025, in Cedzyna, near Kielce. The main organizer of the meeting is the Kielce University of Technology. The event is held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Polish Patent Office and the Rector of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. 

The seminar in Cedzyna is the most important annual forum for exchanging knowledge and experience in the field of intellectual property protection, with participation from patent attorneys, university representatives, research institute experts, and legal practitioners. 

Systemic changes, the Unified Patent Court, AI-related challenges, the EU pharmaceutical package, and the case law of intellectual property courts – these are just some of the topics on this year’s program.
