We are delighted to announce that yesterday, dr. hab. Jan Rudnicki, Prof. UW<\/a> and Of Counsel at Jab\u0142o\u0144ski Ko\u017ami\u0144ski & Partners Law Firm, received the act of appointment as Head of the Department of European Legal Tradition for the 2025-2028 term of office from the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The new term of office promises to be extremely ambitious, as dr. hab. Jan Rudnicki, Prof. UW<\/a>, plans to develop the Department’s activities in several key aspects: expanding the scope of research, enriching the didactic offer, integrating and coordinating the community of people interested in legal traditions and historical-comparative analysis of law, and expanding the network of domestic and foreign connections.

The research of dr. hab. Jan Rudnicki, Prof. UW focuses on comparative law, legal traditions, and Roman law. He is the supervisor of the “Utriusque Iuris” Scientific Association. He has lectured at Masaryk University in Brno, Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv, China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing, and the University of Lisbon. In 2020, he became an expert on the Polish Accreditation Committee and a member of the Disciplinary Committee at the General Council for Science and Higher Education [PL: Rada G\u0142\u00f3wna Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wy\u017cszego] for the term of office 2021-2024.

We will be very interested in and reporting on the progress in achieving this term’s ambitious goals. We congratulate Dr. Hab. Jan Rudnicki, Prof. UW, on taking up this prestigious position and wish him many successes in the academic field!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
