Does a diploma of questionable market value, combined with failures on the part of a higher education institution, amount to improper performance of a contractual obligation? At the beginning of June this year, two further court rulings were handed down in cases brought by students seeking reimbursement of tuition fees incurred in connection with their studies at the\u00a0Varsovia University of Business and Applied Sciences, formerly known as\u00a0Collegium Humanum.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita<\/strong> has published an extensive interview with Professor Krzysztof Ko\u017ami\u0144ski of the University of Warsaw<\/strong>, attorney-at-law and Managing Partner at Jab\u0142o\u0144ski Ko\u017ami\u0144ski & Partners<\/strong>, who acts as legal counsel for former students of the former Collegium Humanum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe courts pointed out that even if a student had been admitted to the final examination and obtained a diploma from Collegium Humanum, that diploma would not have been of significant value. This is not merely a matter of the student\u2019s subjective perception, but also of the diploma\u2019s objective value. These are the consequences of the so-called Collegium Humanum scandal, which has become firmly embedded in public consciousness.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
