In the public debate surrounding the 1997 Constitution of the Republic of Poland<\/strong>, discussion too often focuses on symbolic and ideological issues or on short-term political disputes. Yet the fundamental question facing contemporary constitutional thought is whether the current Constitution provides a framework for building an effective state \u2013 one capable of responding successfully to rapidly evolving domestic and international challenges.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rzeczpospolita<\/strong> has published an article by Professor Krzysztof Ko\u017ami\u0144ski, Managing Partner at Jab\u0142o\u0144ski Ko\u017ami\u0144ski & Partners and Professor at the University of Warsaw<\/strong>, entitled \u201cThe Idea of an Effective State and the Constitution of the Republic of Poland\u201d<\/strong>. The article brings together the conclusions of a year-long expert seminar organised by one of Poland\u2019s leading think tanks, the Sobieski Institute<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
